Calendar of Events

Throughout the year members of the Friends of Baker Park, lead by members of the board organize events in the park related to membership and park maintenance. Please join us.

General Membership Meetings

Purpose: The Friends of Baker Park holds an annual General Membership Meeting in the spring at the Talley Recreation Center (Old Armory). We typically have a speaker to present something related to Baker Park. We also hold elections for new Board members.

Spring Planting Project

Purpose: Each spring, in late May/early June, the Friends of Baker Park does a planting project to either clean up an existing bed or plant a new area with flowers and shrubs.

Holiday Decorating

Purpose: Usually held the first Saturday of December, we decorate the lamp posts in Room 1 (the area between Bentz St. and College Ave.) with pine roping and ribbons.

Friends of Baker Park, Inc., Inc., is a non-profit, volunteer-staffed community service organization dedicated to fostering community involvement with the Frederick City Government in the preservation, restoration, use and maintenance of Baker Park.
