Honor
a special person, family, or organization and beautify Baker Park
with a traditional park bench, attractive trash receptacle, or living
tree. If requested, your honoree will receive a letter of appreciation,
imprinted with the name of the donor, the location of the gift,
and the estimated date of installation. Benches, trash receptacles,
or tree funds may be given by an individual(s), organizations, or
businesses.
The choice and location of donated items will be from
the master plan for Baker Park, created jointly by Friends of Baker
Park, Inc., and the City of Frederick. Equipment items will be installed
within one year. Trees will be planted in the next fall or spring
planting cycle.
Your gift creates a lasting memory, enhances Baker
Park and is fully tax deductible.
Donors may access the interactive
map of Baker Park. The map will allow donors to click on a specific
area of the park to see current locations available for benches,
trash receptacles, or trees.
- Donations will be acknowledged in the Friends of Baker Park
Newsletter and on the Friends of Baker Park website.
- Benches and trash receptacles are warranted against defects
in materials and/or workmanship. According to the DuMor Site
Furnishings Standard Warranty, there is also a limited 20 year
warranty against structural failure of steel bench frames or
complete steel bench assemblies, litter receptacle frames, and
cast iron bench supports. This warranty does not cover items
that have been subject to misuse, neglect, accident, or vandalism.
If the bench or receptacle has to be removed for aesthetic or
safety reasons, the donor will be informed and will be given
the opportunity to replace the bench at the donation level that
is stated in the most current Donation Policy.
- Trees will be maintained by the City of Frederick. Trees
cannot be replaced as a result of vandalism. However, if the
tree should fail to thrive within one year of planting, it will
be replaced by the contractor.
- Friends of Baker Park General Fund donations may be
for any amount and unless designated by the donor for an approved
donation option, will be used for park enhancement projects,
which are at the discretion of the Board. Projects include,
but are not limited to, capital improvement and routine maintenance,
such as the purchase of flowers, shrubs, or ground cover, or
the purchase of needed equipment.
